3rd Annual MLK Day Ride (Visitors Center Loop)

It was a beautiful day for a ride...what day isn't? With the Tablerock Cycles "Fixed Gear Posse", sunshine is just a bonus. With only half the Posse in attendance, 1/4 Mike and Gunny made their way up Craigs Creek which was somewhat a challenge since parts of the road were still covered with ice. What is a MLK Day ride without some ice and snow? The Flight and the Monkey did fine though. Once on the Visitors Center trail 1/4 stopped to do a little trail maintenance with his illegally bought camp saw. We stopped at the "Coffee Shop", built a fire, cooked some coffee and hot chocolate and just hung out in the woods doing what guys do. After a toast to the King we continued on to the Visitors Center then back to the truck. What a day...

Snap or two - looking toward next ride.

Some of the crispy snow or the dirty spots have traction. Cross check caught a broom stick size chunk of limb while crossing over the ridge (to get to this road) and needed the chain tightened up. Always handy to have a few tools along like a 15mm etc.
Jonny Strong enjoying a walk in the park. No challenge out of the question it seems. Maybe the next time a single digit over nighter with some flint and steel,an ax,a cup, space blanket, and a pack of salmon. Yee Haw!

Not too sure what He`s going to do when he grows up. All the feeling fully alive gets in the way of the worrying tho.

Around 4 hours or there abouts. Staying alive.

Cool drink.
Crunch crunch.

In a few months we`ll be cooking in the heat.

Health food.

Cool

Get out of that truck and on to your cross bike.

A little winter is good.

It would warm up some in the next hour or so but heading up toward the hills would cancel out much of that warming. Great gloves and two balaclavas helped alot.
