Thursday fat burn

Thursday fat burning solo ride

With a hand full of raisins, a hand full of pecans, about 5 oz of honey, a bite of chocolate, and a bottle of apple juice the flame was kept lit I hope during 5 and a half to 6 hours of riding the beloved cross check. 40/18 gears, nearly no hills to deal with but lots of wind. Stayed away from as much traffic as possible. Will maybe be in shape again one of these days soon to put in a quality ride up into the mountains for a few days with camping goodies and a friend or two.

Over 70 miles for today - lots of spinning and mumbling.

3rd Annual MLK Day Ride (Visitors Center Loop)

It was a beautiful day for a ride...what day isn't? With the Tablerock Cycles "Fixed Gear Posse", sunshine is just a bonus. With only half the Posse in attendance, 1/4 Mike and Gunny made their way up Craigs Creek which was somewhat a challenge since parts of the road were still covered with ice. What is a MLK Day ride without some ice and snow? The Flight and the Monkey did fine though. Once on the Visitors Center trail 1/4 stopped to do a little trail maintenance with his illegally bought camp saw. We stopped at the "Coffee Shop", built a fire, cooked some coffee and hot chocolate and just hung out in the woods doing what guys do. After a toast to the King we continued on to the Visitors Center then back to the truck. What a day...
