Good thoughts on Power Cranks!

Power Cranks
If cycling were an orange, roadies would take that orange, put it on a juicer, squeeze all the pulpy, delicious goodness out of it, and then eat the rind. And this is most apparent in their use of Power Cranks. When I see somebody out there on a bike with Power Cranks doing his idiotic prostrations, both his pedals in the 6:00 position as his lycra-clad taint bears the full brunt of his weight, I don’t know whether to laugh or just run him off the road. Users of Power Cranks cite performance gains, but it’s pretty obvious to me that once you’re determined enough to use something this stupid you’re going to somehow milk performance gains out of anything. As such, I’m issuing a recall, since these cranks are obviously broken. Duh. Not only that, but they cost like $1,000. If you’re considering these malfunctioning pieces of garbage do something smart and buy a mountain bike instead. Not only will you learn how to pedal, but you’ll also learn how to handle your bike. (And you might even have some fun.)(At least this week.)

Dang it Boy!

Kids ! Do not try this at home.

TablerockCycles name sake in the back ground.

We already had gone up to it and around and - - - Just heading home on a closed to motor traffic back road.

The old one doesn`t look a day over 62.

A couple iron men near a great and not too well know spot. Training/recreating? A great day either way (if you took enough water or pass buddies going the other way with an extra jar).

No Cars No Trucks and in places little to no traction - Roper Holler/South Mt. ride also has some great scenery and sweet spots to give the heart a break and inhale the freedom.

Old geezer back in the summer. It was a pretty good work out getting to Roper Holler so a little beef jerkey and filtered water helped him get his head right before 15 to 20 miles of fun.
Fixed 29r country !
Grandfather Mountain in far distance Why hurry on a day like this?
Maybe how cowboys used to feel about their ponies. IF Ti fixed 29r and free day.
Fixed Redline Monocog Flite 29r with old geezer (with funky bookbag) to make it go.

A Good Sign

Of course it takes all kinds - different strokes for different folks and all that. My life surely makes no sense to many others. All that said however I`m still left wondering how given a choice, someone would opt for slipping between fast moving trucks and riding the line trusting their life to a kid on a cell phone with his learners permit when there are signs out there like "road closed" to disregard. The challenge generated by "maybe you can`t get there from here" and the taste of a wildness/freedom that comes from needing your water filter, space blanket, and last piece of jerkey combine to make sense to this old geezer.
